Rinnai's high-efficiency hot water solution provided reliable performance, lower operating costs and a customised design that integrated seamlessly into the resort's infrastructure.
When Crystalbrook Collection developed its first five-star hotel, Riley Resort in Cairns, it required a reliable and energy-efficient hot water solution that could meet the demands of a premium hospitality environment while overcoming challenging plant room constraints.
Rinnai delivered a customised solution featuring two Demand Duo Systems with high-efficiency condensing Heavy Duty Water Heaters, ensuring dependable performance, energy savings and seamless integration into the resort's design.
Background
Crystalbrook Collection embarked on the development of Riley, its first five-star resort, located at the northern end of Cairns' iconic waterfront Esplanade. Designed to offer a world-class guest experience, the resort features 311 rooms and suites, multiple dining venues, an expansive lagoon pool with a private beach, the Eléme Day Spa and a range of luxury amenities.
To support these facilities, the resort required a robust commercial hot water system capable of delivering consistent performance across a large and diverse property.
Challenge
As a luxury hospitality destination, Riley Resort needed a hot water solution that could reliably meet fluctuating demand from guest rooms, restaurants, bars, spa facilities and other resort services.
Compounding the challenge were strict plant room design requirements. One of the hot water plants required a customised configuration to fit within limited space and specific installation constraints without compromising system performance or efficiency.
Solution
Rinnai worked closely with the project team to design and supply a tailored commercial hot water solution comprising two Demand Duo Systems equipped with high-efficiency condensing Heavy Duty Water Heaters, installed across two separate plant locations.
To address the site's unique requirements, one of the systems was specifically engineered on a low-profile frame, allowing it to fit within the project's stringent design limitations. The Demand Duo configuration provides efficient storage and rapid recovery capabilities, ensuring reliable hot water availability during peak demand periods while maximising energy efficiency.
Outcome
By delivering a customised Demand Duo solution, Rinnai successfully met the operational and design requirements of Crystalbrook Collection's flagship five-star resort.
The result is a high-performance, energy-efficient hot water system that supports an exceptional guest experience while providing long-term reliability, operational efficiency and flexibility for one of Cairns' premier luxury destinations.
