Bethanie Aged Care in Subiaco - install new Rinnai commercial hot water system

Bethanie Aged Care Home in Subiaco required a reliable replacement for its underperforming hot water system while maintaining services for residents during installation.

Rinnai delivered a customised Demand Duo solution with HD28i Heavy Duty Continuous Flow Water Heaters, common flue integration and a Warm Water Valve, improving system reliability and meeting the facility's warm water requirements.

Background

Bethanie Aged Care Home in Subiaco, Western Australia, is a three-storey residential aged care facility requiring a dependable hot water supply to support resident comfort and daily operations.

The existing system consisted of seven internal continuous flow units connected to a common flue arrangement. As performance issues emerged, the facility sought a more reliable and effective solution capable of meeting operational and tempering requirements.

Challenge

The project involved replacing an underperforming warm water system within a functioning aged care facility where disruptions needed to be kept to an absolute minimum.

The upgrade was further complicated by limited plant room space, restricted daily cut-over windows of just four hours, and the need to modify existing flow and return pipework. To maintain service continuity, the installation was carefully staged, with manifolded units installed first, followed by the storage tank and finally the Warm Water Valve.
