Investing in Victorian Manufacturing
Rinnai Australia was proud to welcome The Hon. Jacinta Allan, Premier of Victoria, The Hon. Colin Brooks, Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing, and Mr Tim Richardson, Cabinet Secretary and Member for Mordialloc, to our Mills Road headquarters in Braeside last week.
The visit was an opportunity for the Premier and Ministers to see first-hand the significant investment Rinnai has made in its Victorian operations, including upgrades to our head office and warehousing facilities, and the progress being made in appliance technology development right here in Melbourne’s Southeast.
Rinnai Australia Managing Director Lucas Van Raay said the visit was a proud moment for the entire Rinnai team.
“Our recent multi-million-dollar investment in Victorian R&D, manufacturing and logistics facilities, with recognition and support from the Victorian Government, further cements Rinnai Australia as a pre-eminent local employer and manufacturer of world-class heating, cooling and water heating solutions across household, commercial and industrial markets in Australia and overseas.”
The expansion at our Braeside facility is focused on increasing the design and manufacturing of energy-efficient appliances. It is work that matters not just for Rinnai, but for Victoria’s broader transition to clean energy.
The investment is backed by the Allan Labor Government’s Victorian Investment Fund and will secure 110 jobs, with further flow-on benefits for businesses across the supply chain. Rinnai currently employs 442 people across its three Victorian sites, making it one of the state’s most significant manufacturers in the heating, cooling and hot water sector.
Minister Brooks noted that the expansion was a win for local jobs and manufacturing, and that the government was firmly backing local industry because it drives the economy. Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson echoed that sentiment, describing the visit as another strong show of confidence in Victorian manufacturing.
Rinnai has called Victoria home for over 50 years. Investments like this one reflect our ongoing commitment to building world-class products locally, creating meaningful jobs, and contributing to a more sustainable energy future for Australian homes and businesses.
