FAQs

Whether you’re upgrading an existing system or installing a new one, the Rinnai Efinity Electric Continuous Flow Hot Water System offers a high-performance, energy-saving, and reliable solution for your hot water needs.

Benefits

  • Heats water only when needed, which can improve energy efficiency

  • Provides continuous hot water without the need for a storage tank

  • Compact design that can save space around the home

  • No heat loss from storing hot water in a tank

Considerations

  • Flow rate may be limited if multiple taps or showers are used at the same time

  • Some homes may require the right gas supply, water pressure or electrical connection depending on the model

  • Upfront system and installation costs can vary depending on the setup

The Efinity unit is designed for Indoor installation only.

The Efinity hot water units are generally more energy efficient than traditional electric storage hot water systems. This is because Efinity units only heat water on demand, meaning they activate and use power only when hot water is needed.

In contrast, electric storage systems continuously use energy to heat and maintain the temperature of water stored in a tank, even when it’s not being used. By eliminating standby heat loss and unnecessary heating cycles, Efinity systems can help reduce overall energy consumption and lower electricity costs.

There are many factors to consider when sizing a hot water system for your home. It’s always best to consult with a Rinnai specialist / registered technican to ensure you make the right decision.

The Rinnai Efinity is a fully electric, continuous flow hot water system that heats water instantly as it flows through the unit — without the need for a storage tank. It operates using 3-phase power and is available in high-capacity models (14kW, 19kW, and 29kW), making it suitable for homes with high hot water demand. When a hot water tap is opened, the system automatically activates and begins heating water to the set temperature.

This appliance must be connected to an independent, fused AC 380–415V, 3-phase, 50Hz power supply, with an isolating switch installed at the switchboard. The isolating switch must completely disconnect all active supply conductors from the circuit, and provisions for disconnection must be incorporated into the fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.
