Rinnai manufactures a significant range of our Hot Water products locally at its Braeside, Victoria facility, with select products within our vast heat pump and electric storage tanks range classified as Australian made under Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) certification.
Every one of these products is engineered specifically for Australian conditions, built to perform reliably across the country's full range of conditions.
Commercial HVAC: Built by APAC
Beyond our Hot Water range, we also bring this same local manufacturing capability to Commercial HVAC. Commercial HVAC products are manufactured under our APAC brand. A recent example of our ability to deliver large scale projects is the Ceres Project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, where we delivered twenty-six 230kW systems, four 170kW systems and several smaller units.
From Idea to Installation: How a Rinnai Product Comes to Life
Getting a new product from concept to market is a long and deliberate process. Every product moves through the same framework, starting with ideation and opportunity identification, listening to the voice of the customer to identify a genuine market need. From there, product design, specification, localisation and sourcing validation take place. Every stage ends with a cross-functional review, bringing together quality, manufacturing, testing, operations and compliance to sign off before the next phase begins.
Quality is built into every step of this journey. On the Braeside production line, products pass through multiple visual and camera-based checks, giving us closer control over quality outcomes than offshore production would allow. Our engineering philosophy draws on Japanese manufacturing practices, reflected in the vitreous enamel and stainless-steel tanks that come off the line, built for a longer warranty and durability.

What This Means for You
When you choose a Rinnai product, that local manufacturing isn't just a point of pride, it delivers real, practical benefits for you.
• Faster supply and fewer delays. Producing close to market shortens supply chains and speeds up time to market, so products are more readily available when and where they are needed. It also means spare parts are more readily accessible, helping to keep repairs and servicing fast and straightforward.
• Engineered for Australian conditions. Because these products are designed and tested locally, they are engineered to handle the full spread of Australian climates and conditions, not adapted after the fact.
• Consistent, closely managed quality. With multiple checkpoints throughout the production process, and inwards inspection on any sourced components, Rinnai can hold a tighter standard of quality control than is possible with fully offshore production.
Gas Continuous Flow: Manufactured in Japan
Rinnai's Gas Continuous Flow hot water systems are proudly manufactured in Japan, where Rinnai's gas appliance engineering heritage runs deepest.
Whether built in Braeside or Japan, every Rinnai product is backed by a stringent design and manufacturing process built around quality at every step.
